Prepare a PC (Windows computer) or Mac. It can be Windows 10 or Mac OS X.
Step 1: Put your iPhone or iPad into recovery mode. Connect your iOS device to your PC or Mac and open iTunes. Switch off your iPhone or iPad. Press and hold the Home button and the Sleep/Wake button simultaneously.
Step 2: Release the Sleep/Wakeup button once the screen goes black. Continue holding the Home button until iTunes prompt you a message saying “iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes”. Click OK to continue. You can’t perform the downgrade if you don’t set your iOS 9.3 device to recovery mode.
Step 3: You are now in recovery mode, iTunes will show you an option to restore/update. Click on the Update button. Make sure the iTunes version in your computer is the latest, otherwise update it before proceeding.
Step 4: You will be prompted “A new iPhone software version (9.2) is available for the iPhone “Your iPhone’s Name”. Would you like to download it and update your iPhone now?” Just accept the terms of use for iOS 9 and click on the “Download and Update” button.
Step 5: iTunes will now downgrade your device from iOS 9.3 to iOS 9.2. Generally, it takes less than a few minutes. If your iPhone or iPad exits the recovery mode automatically, put it back into the recovery mode after iOS 9 has been downloaded completely. Then, repeat step 4 again to redo the downgrade.
Step 6: You should be able to see “Slide to Upgrade” once iOS 9 has been downloaded to your iPhone or iPad. Just slide and then your device will be downgraded to iOS 9.2 from iOS 9.3 successfully.
